Jason
The Angel that was scared of heights
Prologue
Location: Heaven
GOD was on his throne (as usual) deep in thought when Michael the Archangel walked in. He started to bow to God. “You sent for me Lord?” He spoke reverently, worried, (he had rarely been called before HIM before!) “How may I serve you?” God raised a weary head. “ONE WORD” He grumbled in mock anger and frustration, “JASON” Michael chuckled, Jason had been an issue ever since he had been created and sent down to be born to mortal parents. He had been sent down to Earth for a purpose just like all mortals, and just like the others, he was going off-track again.
“What’s he done now Oh Great One”
“HE’s DONE IT AGAIN !!”
“Omnipotent One?”
“SINNED!”
“How Emanuel?”
“DAMMIT MICHAEL! I KNOW I HAVE MANY NAMES BUT STICK WITH ONE! IT’S ENOUGH TO GIVE ME AN IDENTITY CRISIS!!!” God barked.
“Yes Lord” Michael replied meekly. God continued

Jason
Jason was an average man with little to set him apart from any other man (according to him!) Although he was a good-natured person, he felt he never fitted in with the human race. He was a struggling Christian and a thinker. Sometimes, too deep for his own good, he would worry about things that might never happen. He would spend hours, pondering about life in general and drawing his own conclusions. One thing preoccupied him more than most and that was his fear of heights. He would reason that IF he were to become an angel one day, that he would be too afraid to fly and so, in his mind, he developed an idea.
Chapter Eight
HEAVEN:
STEALING AGAIN ! WHY IN MY NAME, DOES HE KEEP SHOOTING HIMSELF IN THE FOOT LIKE THIS? He moaned WAIT, I KNOW, I KNOW, He shook his head and smiled, BUT I HAD TO TEACH HIM THAT EIGHTH COMMANDMENT SO HE WOULD FINALLY REMEMBER, DIDN'T I?
Michael cast his mind back to Jason’s case.”You mean, falling down that cliff LORD? Well, it DID seem a bit harsh at the time… Tell me, what happened exactly
THE 8TH COMMANDMENT
THOU SHALT NOT STEAL!!!
Location: Somewhere near Ireland.
It was a warm sunny day on the island and Jason, Aria and his mum and dad decided to go for a picnic up on High Tor, a wedge-shaped hill about 200 feet tall, not far from the cottage where they were staying. Jason was a quiet but active 5 year old and his sister was 7. When they got to the top of the hill, his mother got out the food and they set down to eat. Jason was hungry and wolfed down his sandwiches quickly and then attacked his candybar with gusto. When he had finished, he turned around, grabbed his sister’s candybar and took off running, Aria got up and gave chase and Jason, not looking where he was going, suddenly ran out of ground. As he fell down the cliff, he was bemused at the sensation of the air roaring around him and the feeling of weightlessness. Too late, the feeling ended as he plowed into the ground at an undetermined speed. Winded, he staggered to his feet and looked up. He still didn’t quite comprehend what had just happened, but, hearing his mum shouting for him, sat down and started to cry, more out of self-pity than hurt. He had been checked out by the hospital and as he was walking, they concluded that all he had to show for his accident was a grazed toe. It wasn’t until much later in his life, that it was discovered that he compressed his spine in 3 places!
HEAVEN
Michael gaped. HE knew that sometimes God used a “still small voice” to prompt correction via his son’s Holy Spirit and sometimes a hard rap on the knuckles but THIS?
“But why Lord? He asked.
TO TEACH HIM A LESSON OF COURSE God replied THOU SHALT NOT STEAL !
